CookDial: a dataset for task-oriented dialogs grounded in procedural documents

چکیده

This work presents a new dialog dataset, CookDial, that facilitates research on task-oriented systems with procedural knowledge understanding. The corpus contains 260 human-to-human dialogs in which an agent, given recipe document, guides the user to cook dish. Dialogs CookDial exhibit two unique features: (i) alignment between flow and supporting document; (ii) complex agent decision-making involves segmenting long sentences, paraphrasing hard instructions resolving coreference context. In addition, we identify three challenging (sub)tasks assumed system: (1) User Question Understanding, (2) Agent Action Frame Prediction, (3) Response Generation. For each of these tasks, develop neural baseline model, evaluate dataset. We publicly release comprising rich annotations both documents, stimulate further domain-specific document-grounded systems.

Measuring Personality Adaptation in Task-Oriented Dialogs

Decades of research on human communication provides substantial evidence that human conversants in dialogue adjust their language to their conversational partner: conversants adapt to particular ways of referring to things (Brennan and Clark, 1996), mimic the partner’s lexical diversity (Coupland et al., 1988) and entrain to their vocabulary choices (Parent and Eskenazi, 2010). For example, for...

Emotion Detection in Task-oriented Spoken Dialogs

Detecting emotions in the context of automated call center services can be helpful for following the evolution of the human-computer dialogs, enabling dynamic modification of the dialog strategies and influencing the final outcome. The emotion detection work reported here is a part of larger study aiming to model user behavior in real interactions. We make use of a corpus of real agent-client s...

Quantitative Analysis of Prosody in Task-Oriented Dialogs

The current paper reports first results from the analysis of task-oriented dialogs using a Fujisaki model based parameterization of F0 contours. Two versions of map task style dialogs were examined: (1) the recordings made during the map task proper, (2) readings from scripts of the original dialog by the same speakers. In the scope of this paper an analysis of phrase boundaries with respect to...

Factors Affecting Speaking-Rate Adaptation in Task-Oriented Dialogs

Dialog systems should be able to automatically determine an appropriate speaking rate for each utterance. In a small corpus of billing support dialogs we identified factors accounting for 18% of the variation in agent speaking rate. Simple adaptation to the user accounts for little, rather it is the dialog state and dialog acts in the local context which seem to matter more. 1

Using Process Knowledge in Understanding Task-Oriented Dialogs

This note outlines research on natural language communication between two parties « cooperating to accomplish a task. Our goal is to formalize the knowledge needed to understand task-oriented dialogs and to develop techniques for representing and coordinating this knowledge in a computer system that can participate in the dialog. Encoding general process knowledge and the dynamics of specific t...
